Important information for patients

  • Dear Patients,
We would like to inform you that starting from 1.7.2026, the reissuance of a previously issued referral form (e.g., due to loss or damage) will be subject to a fee of 100 CZK.
The same fee will also be charged in cases where the referral is issued solely at the patient’s request, or if the patient is referred to a general practitioner only for the purpose of issuing a referral, even though the examination was indicated or recommended by another specialist.
These administrative tasks are not covered by public health insurance and represent time-consuming paperwork for the clinic that goes beyond the scope of provided healthcare.
Please note that the validity of most referrals is not limited by legal regulations. We therefore ask you to keep them safe.
At the same time, we would like to remind you that if a specialist indicates a further specialized examination, they should standardly issue the referral directly, as they are responsible for the indication and the continuity of the diagnostic process.
  • As of July 1, 2026, new regulations from the Ministry of Health come into effect, expanding the scope for general practitioners to prescribe certain medications that were previously restricted to medical specialists.
However, we would like to inform you that this change does not mean the automatic takeover of a patient’s care or the prescription of all medications indicated by a specialist.
The following rules continue to apply in our clinic:
We prescribe medications in cases where we indicate the treatment ourselves and manage it on a long-term basis.
If you remain under the care of a specialist (e.g., a cardiologist, neurologist, psychiatrist, diabetologist, rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, etc.), the prescription of medications related to this condition remains the responsibility of that specialist, who is responsible for setting, adjusting, and monitoring the treatment.
The mere possibility of prescribing a certain medication does not mean that the general practitioner assumes specialist responsibility for a treatment managed by another specialist.
This procedure ensures continuity of care, treatment safety, and clear responsibility for its management.
